LOS ANGELES - GOLF superstar Tiger Woods will break his silence on Friday, speaking publicly for the first time since revelations of marital infidelity launched a tabloid firestorm, his agent said on Wednesday.
The 34-year-old is to speak on Friday morning from the clubhouse at the TPC Sawgrass, headquarters of the US PGA Tour at Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida.
Agent Mark Steinberg said in a statement that Woods would speak to a 'small group of friends, colleagues and close associates' about his past and what he plans next, as well as apologising for his behaviour.
Woods will not take questions, Mr Steinberg said.
'While Tiger feels that what happened is fundamentally a matter between him and his wife, he also recognises that he has hurt and let down a lot of other people who were close to him,' the statement posted on Woods' website said. 'He also let down his fans. He wants to begin the process of making amends, and that's what he's going to discuss. His remarks will be open to a press pool for live coverage. It is NOT a news conference.'
Woods' long awaited public appearance will come in the middle of the WGC Accenture Match Play Championship in Arizona, which started on Wednesday. -- AFP
Summary
Tiger Wood, the world famous golf player, finally decided to speak out to the public after the revelations of marital infidelity. He would like to speak to his relatives and friends about the wrong things he has done, his plan for the future. He would also apologize for his bad behaviors. In this way, he would like to compensate his wife, dear friends and his fans.
Reflection
Tiger Wood is a great golf player and I am a fan of him. However, after the scandal of him cheating his wife, I don't think he is that great. As a celevrity, he should act as an example to his fans. Whatever he does can be seen by everyone else around the world. In this affair, he undermines both his fame and the golf league's reputation. However, after his decision of doing a public talk to his most loved relatives and fans to make up for his bad behaviors, I felt a bit better of him. He is able to face the scandal and apologize bravely. He then gives his fan a brighter future because they are going to see him play golf again soon after the speech.

Postman to rest Saturdays
Author: Tan Weizhen
Source: http://www.straitstimes.com/BreakingNews/Singapore/Story/STIStory_489021.html
Date: Feb 10, 2010
Summary
SingPost decides that the postmen will not be working on Saturdays from May 15. Since Singaporeans have been relying more on Internet to communicate each other than letters, the number of items delivered by postmen is decreasing over the years. Moreover, the mails handled on Saturdays are much less than those on weekdays. However, SingPost has promised that the service standard will remain the same as usual.
Reflection
In my opinion, I agree that postmen should take a break on Saturdays. With the development of electronic communication equipment, it is a fact that people are sending fewer and fewer letters to communicate with each other. I remembered that I used to have some pen friends, when I was in primary school, and sometimes I complained about the efficiency of postal service. However, after I had a computer and later a cell phone, I started to chat online and send text messages instead of writing letters. Nowadays, only the companies need to send plenty of mails. It does not mean that the job as a postman is not so important than before, but it is much easier. That is an improvement for postmen, and they have the right to work the same 5 days in a week as other people do.

Now the doors are open to all the evil that are associated with casinos and Singapore will never be the same. secondly, opening casinos in singapore will definetely bring more tourists, however, most tourists are not rich enough to bring a considerable income. as mentioned in the article, there were even foriegn labours sleeping outside the door way!thirdly, as i see it, casino will not only bring evil, it also waste resouces because it encourage poeple to use thier money for nothing! in conclusion, I don't think it is a good idea to bring casino to singapore, and no doubt, there will be many other problems in the future!

Summary:
The casino and theme park at Resorts World Sentosa will open for eight days from the first day of the Chinese New Year and for four hours each day- from 5pm to 9pm. The public need to par 10 dollars to get in the theme park with none of the 20 rides or shows running. After the eight days, the casino will be closed again until early next month.
Reflection:
The casino is one of the most sensitive issues in Singapore, so this time, the pre-open action of the Sentosa casino has also raised lots of reflections. In my point of view, the Singapore government made this decision firstly to celebrate Chinese New Year; secondly to kind of satisfy the public curiosity on the casinos; and thirdly to publicize the casino and attract more customers. I really appreciate this pre-open action because it provides the public one more recreation during the holiday. However, I am wondering why the casino will only be open in the evening from 5pm to 9pm, which is really a short time. In term of this issue, government should be more considerate when making any decision.
